A Terrible Gift for You
It has been an inauspicious week. Artists have left us. We're living through some real "last days of an empire" bullshit. Plus, I feel like The Brutalist fell off like crazy in the second act and I also have the largest workload of my career and I'm not sure how to tackle it given that I feel like I'm living in a dream with all of my horrified friends and loved ones.
,,,
In order to remove the sleep from my eyes, I've returned to a hobby: making playlists.
I used to do this all the time when I only had fake responsibilities. I still keep a large mp4 library. If I combine the library with streaming, it's a fun way to make a collage. Useful, given the energy of the week. I've been circulating a few of my playlists for 15 years now and if you've ever been in a car with me, you've probably heard one of them. I want to say that they're terrible and inaccessible, but over time I've learned that I have a knack for it.
So in lieu of any real thoughts, I'm just going to share this playlist I made for the week. It's a gift. I do think it is likely terrible and inaccessible, but it's what I'm listening to this week. Here you go:

It is a lot of soundscapes and whispering. There's a light intermission and an epilogue because I'm subconsciously mimicking the format of The Brutalist in order to remedy my own annoyance with it, I guess.
If soundscapes are not for you, I urge you to trust me anyway as a person who has not one but two Carly Rae Jepsen posters in her house. They are the same poster, twice. It is cute.
